
COMMODORE ECOTEC 3.8L V6 ENGINE

MAZDA B2600/B2500 & FORD COURIER 4X4 EFI & DIESEL
V6 Conversions have developed a Conversion Kit that allows the installation of the Holden Commodore V6 3.8ltr EFI engine to the above vehicle. The kit is designed to replace the Mazda/Ford Courier 2.6ltr, 4 cylinder petrol engine (EFI model), as well as the 2.5ltr 4 cylinder diesel engine.
The kit is designed to allow the V6 engine to be fitted to the standard 5-speed gearbox. The adaptor kits are designed to allow adequate firewall clearance therefore eliminating the need to move the transfer case or modify drive shafts.
The bellhousing will require modifications. You send us your bellhousing for modification.
The Mazda/Ford Courier engine mounting kit enables the use of the standard GM engine bracket located on the left side of the engine. This design allows the use of the standard GM air conditioning compressor if required.
Fitting instructions are also supplied as part of the kit along with technical backup support if required.
You will need to obtain the following components –
* The Commodore V6 manual engine complete with the main engine wiring harness, the ECM computer and memcal. Other accessories such as the map sensor, purge canister, air cleaner & ducting, air-conditioning compressor & power steering pump, engine pipes & catalytic converter. Also required for this conversion is a T5 flywheel and pressure plate, the clutch plate is supplied in the kit.
You can leave your original fuel tank in place by using an external EFI fuel pump (for diesel vehicles).
The V6 motor does not have an engine driven fan, you can use your original radiator and fit the fan and cowling from a VS Commodore or a 16″ Davies Craig or similar.
The wiring kit we have available covers from the VS-VY. It comes in 2 parts, the under bonnet loom with all the relays and fuses and the under dash loom which incorporates an engine trouble light. The wiring kit plugs into the V6 engine and gearbox loom leaving only 6 wires to be tapped into your vehicles original loom, which are – alternator light, oil light, temp light or gauge, ignition, starter & tacho.
